WordPress is a powerful, flexible platform capable of running the largest sites on the web. Flexibility can come at the cost of performance, and in WordPress we see this with complex queries over large data sets. Can we alleviate this by shifting the weight of WP_Query off of MySQL? (Spoiler alert: Yes).
